RStudio Desktop Pro

Users of RStudio Desktop Pro can launch and connect to remote Posit Workbench RStudio Pro Sessions, allowing them to do their work on a more powerful computing system while providing the enhanced desktop look-and-feel.

Note

RStudio Desktop Pro clients will be unable to connect to Posit Workbench when it is configured to use Google Authentication due to restrictions from Google - see Google’s Notice for more information.

Note

Connecting to Posit Workbench requires the same major version of RStudio Desktop Pro. It may be possible to connect with mismatched versions of Workbench and Desktop Pro, but this may lead to unexpected behavior and is not officially supported.
